Fonds de Garantie des Dépôts v. Cofidom - Judgment of the Cour de Cassation

On January 9th 2019, the French Cour de Cassation dismissed the appeal brought by the Fonds de Garantie des Dépôts et de Résolution against Paris Court of Appeal’s judgment which dismissed its action for damages brought against Crédit Martiniquais’ administrators. This decision puts a definitive end to this trial, which began more than 18 years ago, and vindicates the former managers of the bank who had always contested the mistakes that the Fund accused them of.
